Files & Film is curating it’s annual group photography show in 2022. Files & Film 8 will be quite different than the prior 7 years of traditional annual juried shows. There will be no jurors, no awards.
F&F 8 will be curated by Owner/Founder of Files & Film Xina Scuderi in collaboration with Gallery Director Amanda Poss and Gallery Assistant Emiliano Settecasi.

Limited to artists residing in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Manatee counties, OR artists previously exhibited with Files & Film.
There is no theme. The theme is photography. In Files & Film tradition we want to see your personal work!
Requirements
PHOTOGRAPHY MUST BE YOURS!
Art must be circa 2020 or later. Once notified, artists may have new work approved to be exhibited.
Prints must be ready to hang. Prints are not permitted to be tacked to the wall unless it is part of an installation approved by Files & Film.
Art does not have to be for sale.
NO SIZE LIMIT!!! Only size rule is digital photography prints must be minimum 8″ on the short. Ceilings are 10′ high. Will your art take a lot of space? Files & Film 8 might have the space for you. Be creative! Is this an experience? Is this an installation? Cool!
Files & Film always has a goal to curate a photography group show that is unique, special. We want to showcase:
Diversity: Gender, Race, Age. Under 18 must have an adult responsible for communications.
Different mediums: Digital, Film, Fiber, Cyanotype, Sculpture, Installation, Video, Mixed Media, glass? anything weird, cool, different? let’s see it!
Different levels of experience exhibiting art: Emerging Artists, Experimental, Never exhibited art before, Pro
Files & Film is not your typical juried show judged upon a paragraph we can copy and paste that sounds delightful for marketing purposes, and your cv record. We do want ‘quality’ art, but Files & Film is known to accept photographic art that you otherwise would never see exhibited. That’s what makes Files & Film so special.
HOW TO SUBMIT
PAYMENT
To be considered for Files & Film 8 artists pay $20 submission fee to Venmo @xina-scuderi. Alternative payment method is cash or paypal ascuderi@mail.usf.edu. Xina’s Venmo account QR code is at the bottom of this page.

Send up to 10 images to curator Xina Scuderi @ filesandfilm@gmail.com. Xina may contact you.
Please give each file name YOUR NAME and the TITLE as follows: ‘Xina Scuderi_(title).jpg’. Attach files. If untitled please number the files Untitled1,2,3 ect.
If the art is not complete yet please send whatever completed image elements you have or some kind of inspiration board, drawing and/or visual presentation.

‘WHY WE PHOTO’
Files & Film 8 has been awarded a Gobioff Foundation Mini-Grant in support of a video project to play as a preface to the exhibition. The video produced by Owner/Founder Xina Scuderi and her partner Kyle Fleming will play on a TV or Projector.
