[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Files & Film presents: Venustas (Title Tentative)

Files & Film is hosting a small group exhibition at ArtLofts in downtown St. Petersburg for the month of January. Thank you to the resident artists of ArtLofts for opening the doors to photographers. Special thanks to Rebecca Skelton and Brian James.

Files & Film traditionally hosts large juried group shows with no theme. Post covid Files & Film is scaling back to host smaller themed shows continuing to support local photographers. Files & Film is excited to host an ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN themed group show for the month of January with no cost to artists to participate and 100% of sales going to artists.

We have been offered specific spaces within the ArtLofts to complement the art of resident artists and bring new people in to experience Second Saturday Artwalk on JANUARY 8th, 2022. Files & Film is calling to select 10-15 artists.

Files & Film prefers local artists from Pinellas, Hillsborough and Manatee counties who can participate in the OPENING on JANUARY 8th, 2022. Art will show for 1 month.

VENUSTAS:

Roman Architect Marcus Vitruvius Pollio of the 1st century BC originated the idea that the 3 principles of great architecture are firmitas, utilitas, and venustas. In modern terms we refer to firmitas (firmness) as strength, utilitas as utility or purpose, and venustas represents the delight or beauty of a structure. Files & Film presents ‘Venustas’ photography exhibition showcasing the delight or beauty of architecture and design.
