PASSION PROJECT: Files and Film

The “Files and Film photography exhibition is a shining example of a supportive arts community. Back in 2013, Xina Scuderi started organizing fellow local photographers and by the next year had a gallery show. She reached out to local businesses related to photography, and with help from Erickson Digital Arts and the Leslie Curran/Articles Art Gallery, Files and Film became a juried exhibition with prize awards. This year, the exhibition is hosted by the Mize Gallery and opens with a reception. Sixty-five Florida artists will showcase a variety of styles and techniques, including Lissa Hatcher. Scuderi curated the show and tapped esteemed local curators Amanda Cooper, Robin Perry Dana and Catherine Bergmann to be the jurors. Remains on display through June 1. Free. 6-10 p.m. Saturday. 689 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, St. Petersburg. filesandfilm.com.
